Udawalawa

Udawalawe National Park, nestled around the Udawalawe Reservoir and framed by the Great Western mountain range, is a haven for wildlife, particularly elephants. With over 600 elephants, it’s one of the best places in the world to witness these majestic animals in their natural habitat, often seen in large herds. The park’s open plains and sparse vegetation provide excellent visibility for spotting other wildlife, including buffalo, crocodiles, deer, and various bird species. While leopards and bears are rarer sightings, the park offers a true wildlife adventure.
